Futurama’s Back.. Again

That’s right, after being cancelled by Fox, then given a limited run of 4 DVD movies, which wrapped up with Into the Wild, Green Yonder, Futurama is returning again to its original format of a half-hour television series. As Futurma is one of my favorite television series of all time, this is pretty good news. It’s just surprising, considering how long it’s been since Futurama has been on the air. The only other concern, for fanboys like myself, is that the series was relatively flawless, and the DVDs were not awful (okay, Bender’s Game was pretty bad), so anything further risks jumping the futuristic robot shark and “ruining” an otherwise perfect run. But I suppose the chance of getting another classic episode like “The Sting” (one of my favs) is worth any duds that may come with it. Besides, the weaknesses of the movies came, in my opinion, from trying to stretch a Futurama story on to feature length, when they are strongest in the half-hour format.

Anywho, congrats to team Futurama, some of the funniest and most talented people in the business.
